Bomba de Fruta Colombia Coffeebeans

This ‘fruit bomb’, Bomba de Fruta comes from Nariño Colombia. An intensely juicy coffee with a round mouthfeel. It is a true fruit explosion as the name suggests. What is quite special is that this is a natural (i.e. unwashed) coffee bean from Colombia. The coffee berries were first fermented for 100 to 120 days after which they were dried for 28 days.

  • Flavour: Blackberries, purple plum, sultana, chocolate.
  • Bean: Colombia, Caturra, Castillo.
  • Cuppingscore : 87/100
  • Harvest: 2021
  • Origin: Nariño, 1800 m altitude
  • Freshly roasted every week in our micro-roastery in Rotterdam-West

This coffee comes from 2 coffee farmers: Jorge Luis Erazo Ascuntar and
Alvaro Francisco Santacruz Rodriguez, both producers who dared to risk making an unwashed coffee. The National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) only buys washed coffee so every coffee farmer also makes washed coffees to secure his income. Drying the beans is a risk in Nariño because of the humidity and chances of rain. Some sort of greenhouses are therefore used to dry the coffee. See picture below. In short, a fine example of coffee production and to be tasted with us!
