The well-known Japanese Sencha blended with puffed rice.

Genmaicha Otsuka is a combination of Japan’s best-known green tea, Sencha, blended with puffed rice, which reduces the tea’s caffeine content by half. It is a common everyday tea in Japan. In the Netherlands, people like to drink Genmaicha after meals as it is low in caffeine.

This Genmaicha comes from producer Otsuka, which has won several tea awards in Japan.

The typical Genmaicha flavour comes from the puffed rice, which gives the tea and sweet, fresh aftertaste. This makes this tea very compatible with fish dishes, such as sushi.
