Peru Flor de Selva Coffee Beans

This coffee from Peru, Flor de Selva, La Ciopa San Ignacia District is grown at an altitude between 1600 and 2100 meters. A group of 72 smallholders (that is, farmers who have between 1 and 3 acres of land) near the village of Pumpite in La Ciopa in northern Peru supply the beans for this coffee. They all participate in a coffee quality plan and their farms are certified organic. They receive a higher price for their cherries but then the demands (and expectations) are higher. The smallholders have their own facility to ferment and wash the cherries (micro mills) and are assessed separately.
