This coffee was produced and handpicked by smallholders in Yirgacheffe and processed at the SNAP washing station using the natural process, where whole, fully ripe coffee cherries are sun-dried on raised tables.
Magarissa means green in the Oromiffa language of the Oromo people. Here, it refers to this coffee’s flavor profile of berries and citrus, according to a flavor wheel created by the exporter.
The SNAP washing station serves around 400 smallholder farmers who grow coffee under a semi-forested canopy with dense vegetation. SNAP, which operates other washing stations in the area, supports farmer communities by building schools, roads, and waste recycling systems with future plans to focus on healthcare accessibility.
