Iron Lion is a natural community lot from the Dayeâ¯Bensa washing stations in Sidama Bensa, Ethiopia, created in partnership with The Coffeeâ¯Quest and named after the Bob Marley song, “Iron Lion Zion” where zion refers to the promised land of Ethiopia.
Grown at elevations between roughly 1,900 and 2,300 m, this heirloom-variety coffee is cherry-sorted, floated, and then sun-dried on African beds for 14â18 days. It delivers an expressive, fruity profile rich in berries and fudge-like chocolate, while the producers maintain sustainable practicesâincluding switching to organic fertilisers.
