Honduras Natural Coffee Beans Roasted in Rotterdam
This coffee comes from the Montecillos region of La Paz in southwestern Honduras, one of the country’s six main coffee-growing regions and the birthplace of Café de Marcala, Honduras’s first protected Denomination of Origin for coffee. The region’s cool climate, mountainous terrain, volcanic and clay-loam soils, and lower nighttime temperatures allow the cherries to mature slowly, developing higher concentrations of sugars and aromatic compounds.
The coffee is the IHCAFE 90 variety, a high-quality, high-yield hybrid well suited to lower-altitude conditions. Farms in Montecillos follow strict sustainability practices, including regulated shade agroforestry, soil conservation, balanced plant nutrition, and integrated pest management to support healthy plants and high-quality, defect-free beans.
