Green tea made from tea plant petioles
Kukicha, also known as Bocha, is made from the tea leaf's petioles, removed from the Sencha during the production process. You could call it a "twig tea" made from the tea leaf's twigs and veins. Kukicha is lighter than Sencha and is, as well as being loved by connoisseurs, highly suited to any green tea drinker because of its lovely, sweet taste.
Kukicha is refreshing and a perfect midday boost! It provides a kick similar to coffee, providing you with a dash of energy.
This Kukicha is produced by Otsuka, an award-winning, Japanese tea manufacturing company.
Kukicha is a pale green tea with a distinctly grassy flavor. A one minute brew suffices and the tea is highly suited to repeated brewing with slightly hotter water. Furthermore, this tea is chock-full of vitamins and minerals.
- Flavor: Light, mild, green freshness and sweetness due to the tea's amino acids. Sweet green vegetables like broccoli and sugar snaps, with a slightly briny seaweed-like finish. Lovely when combined with fishy dishes or sushi.
